Abhyasa Yoga

200-hr Yoga Teacher Training

Introduction

The 200-hr Abhyasa Yoga teacher training is catered to both those that want to acquire the skills to become a yoga teacher and to those that want to deepen their own personal practice.  Throughout this 9 month comprehensive training, students will develop the skills to teach a unique Hatha yoga class to a variety of different populations. By looking in depth at anatomy and physiology, pranayama, meditation, asana, teaching methodology, and yoga history, philosophy, and theory, trainees will leave with a better understanding of themselves and how to safely lead others in the art and practice of yoga.

  • Confidence Building Through Practice Teaching

  • Cultivating Your Voice as a Teacher.

  • Meditation Techniques and Personal Development Strategies

  • Yoga Therapy and Teaching Special Populations

  • The Business and Ethics of Teaching Yoga

Program Format (Dates, Times etc.)

The Abhyasa Yoga teacher training program runs for 9 months, in a flexible one weekend a month format, which allows participants to travel from further distances to participate.

 

Each of the 9 weekends will be held at The Movement Lab, located at 301 W 29th Street, Baltimore MD 21211.

Hours For Each Weekend: 

  • Friday: 6-9pm

  • Saturday: 9am-6pm

  • Sunday: 9am-5pm 

Faculty:

The primary teacher for the Abhyasa Yoga teacher training is Marley Keller, ERYT-500.
Guest teachers include, Philip Bender, Chris Jamison, Linda Howard, and Lindsay Lusignea.

Cost:

*$2800-EARLY BIRD TUITION (Includes a FREE 10 class pass.)  To take advantage of this deal, students must register before December 1, 2016.

 

$3000 after December 1st.

 

Payment Plan upon request.

Included in Tuition: 

- All weekend hours with the lead teacher and guest teachers.

- Free 10 class pass (if signed up by December 1, 2016).

- 25% off private yoga sessions with lead teacher throughout the duration of the training.

Additional Expenses:

- Books for required reading (to be announced upon acceptance of application). 

Class Size:

In order to insure that each student receives individual attention and support,
class size will be limited to 30 students.

Marley Keller

E-RYT 500

In 2006, Marley received her 200 hour yoga teacher training from the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health.  She spent the next 3 years dedicated to completing both a 200 and 500 hour teacher training program with an emphasis on yoga therapeutics at Golden Heart Yoga in Annapolis MD.   It was here that she had the opportunity to study with some extremely talented yoga masters including Rod Stryker, Victor Van Kooten, and Arthur Kilmurray. 
Marley has also done various workshops with, but not limited to, Shiva Rea, John Friend, and Doug Swenson.
